“Piers” by Photographer Jo Metson scott

In this BOOOOOOOM article, I was drawn to how Scott questions if the pier is the reason for why its guests feel so relaxed. In one of the photographs, a boy, with the help of the pier bench, lies down and rests his head on the table. Without the object, the boy could be relaxed, but the bench physically permits the boy to release tension. While the bench is not the pier, other objects within the pier (like the carousel, sand, and games) allow for this relaxation as well.
